ACS History 1994-2021…..
Andre started ACS (Andre’s Creative Services) out of his home in 1994. Andre, a geek at heart, shifted his focus away from his thriving hot-tub and pool business to building a computer business. For a while he had clients who had their hot tub and computer fixed all in one service call!
Soon ACS, built by word of mouth, had outgrown his home. So, in 2001 Andre and Paula, with the support of family and friends opened their first retail location on 5th Street, Courtenay. The retail location brought new clients and the business grew quickly. There are lots of great memories from the 5th street store including all the fun at the Halloween parades!
In 2006, again with the support and encouragement of family and friends, ACS moved to it’s current location behind the mall. This was a great move, with more space and easier access ACS continued to grow. As technology continued to change and word of mouth in the business community spread, the business clients who were always the core of ACS began to swell.
Andre’s passion nowadays is business consulting. Helping businesses navigate the IT world and discover the right products and services, especially security, that will help their business thrive! After 35 years as a small business owner, Andre is uniquely adept at understanding the time management issues and pitfalls attached to running a business, and how to avoid them, as best as possible.
Andre and Paula made the heart wrenching decision to close the residential support and sales side of the business in March 2020. During the early days of the pandemic, business clients needed support more than ever and Andre was there every day to support their businesses and keep things running smoothly despite everything happening around us.
Paula, always the bookkeeper and business partner, has joined the team in a more formal capacity. It is Paula you will hear on the phone and although she more of gardener at heart than a geek, she can help you to get in touch with the right geek!
At the core ACS is a service business, although we provide high quality products it is really the expertise gained by years in the IT industry and in business that make the ACS team what it is. In 2021 ACS has rebranded to better to reflect what ACS does: provide IT peace of mind!
It is that expertise and peace of mind that ACS gives back to the Comox Valley community. Over the years ACS has assisted many fundraisers, community groups and mostly recently our Crushing it for Charity Recycle Program. With the retail store closed ACS is focusing on getting the word out to Comox Valley charities that we provide discounted IT support. We give our IT expertise and help local charities get their work done!
